Instructional Staff
Dr. Richard Poe (Director) has his Ed.D from the University of Sarasota in Human Services, as as Master's, Bachelor's and Associate's degrees in Business Management. His is a retired Law Enforcement Officer / Polygraphist from the Pinellas County, Florida, Sheriff's Office. Dr. Poe has served as the Director of (APA) Accredited Polygraph Schools, and has taught the basic course and lectured to various agencies and associations throughout the world. Dr. Poe is currently the Vice President-Private of the Florida Polygraph Association and holds F.P.A. Certified Polygraphist Certificate #127 and American Association of Police Polygraphist certificate #1745. The American and Florida Polygraph Association programs in Post Conviction Sexual Offender Testing and Monitoring also certify Dr. Poe. He was formerly Regional Director (Region 3), of the Ethics and Grievance Committee of the American Polygraph Association. Dr. Poe is a former member of the National Association of Polygraph Specialists in Sex Offender Testing / Monitoring. Dr. Poe serves on
the ASTM subcommittee E52 on Examiner Education and Training Committee on Forensic Psychophysiology. Dr. Poe consults with various law enforcement agencies throughout the world.
Arno Horvath (International
Director) has his post graduate studies from the Universidad Simon
Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela. Mr. Horvath's Mechanical Engineering Degree
is from the Universidad Simon Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela. Mr. Horvath
received his American Polygraph Association Accredited Training from The
International Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is a certified
instructor by The American Polygraph Association. Mr. Horvath is fluent in
both English and Spanish languages.
Donald Wright, M.A. (Instructor) Mr. Wright Served as an Investigator and Polygraph Examiner while employed as a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1970 until 1996. Upon his retirement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Mr. Wright was employed as Chief Investigator and Polygraphist for the 18th Judicial District of the State of Alabama. Mr. Wright continues to serve the Law Enforcement Community since his semi-retirement in Florida. Mr. Wright is a graduate of the Department of Defense Polygraph Institute, the University of Southern Mississippi with an B.A. Degree, University of South Alabama with a M.A. Degree, and has done post graduate study in advanced polygraphy at the University of Virginia. Mr. Wright has received specialized training in Post Conviction Sex Offender Testing, Fundamentals of Courtroom Testimony, Interviews and Interrogations, Applicant Interviewing and Narcotics Specialization Training. Mr. Wright is a member of the Alabama Association of Polygraph Examiners, American Association of Police Polygraphists, Florida Polygraph Association, and the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
David Ivan Lichter (Instructor) is a former State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit, State of Florida where he specialized in Investigation, preparation and trial of criminal cases, including felony, misdemeanor, grand jury and capital cases and was the former training coordinator of that office. He was a former member of the Chairman of the Student bar Academic Affairs Committee, American Bar Association, Law Student Division at the Stetson University College of Law. He was educated at the Stetson University College of Law, St. Petersburg, Florida as a Doctor of Jurisprudence and also holds a B.B.A. in Business Management and Marketing from Florida State University.
Wade B. Moss (Instructor) has a Bachelor of Science degree from the
Florida International University in Miami, Fl., Associate degree in
Applied Science. He is also a member of the American Polygraph
Association and The Florida Polygraph Association. Wade is also on
the APA Standards Committee on Sex Offender testing. He is also
currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Florida Polygraph
Association. He is also a 2004 certified APA as an instructor for
Sex Offender Testing. Wade also is a licensed private
investigator.
Samuel L. Braddock (Instructor) MS in Polygraph
Science from Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama. He has
served as an instructor at The United States Department of Defense
Polygraph Institute (DoDPI). Mr. Braddock is retired from the U.S. Army
and has worked for various federal agencies as a polygraph examiner.
Dr. Jarrett Grunstein (Instructor of Physiology)
Dr. Grunstein graduated from Palmer College, San Jose, CA and holds his
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Naropa Institute, Boulder, CO.
Dr. Laura Umfer (Instructor) Holds a Psy D.
degree from Argosy University, Tampa, FL and is a Florida Licensed
Psychologist (License PY 7289). Dr Umfer has teaching experience at
Argosy-FSPP, Tampa, FL and is a member of the American Psychological
Association, Florida Psychological Association Psi-Chi Member, Rutgers
University, Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers and the
Florida Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.
