Psychological Screening:

Dr. Richard Poe and Associates provide psychological screening for a wide variety of sensitive populations including:

  • Law Enforcement Officers
  • Firemen/Paramedic/EMT's
  • Security Personnel

  • Student Pilot
  • Specialized Units (S.W.A.T., Hostage Negotiators)Vice & Narcotics Unit, Intelligence Units)
  • Staff and Faculty of Educational Institutions
  • Public Health Personnel
  • Personal and Family Screenings

Dr. Richard Poe and Associates offer psychological screening to both public safety job applicants and current public safety employees who are referred for psychological evaluations for reasons such as mandated fitness for duty, weapon carrying screening, and a variety of special unit assignments (E.G., S.W.A.T., Hostage negotiation, Vice & narcotics, intelligence, etc...)

Psychological profiles compare the applicants' test scores with those of The Personality Assessment Inventory Software Portfolio Community Sample, with approximately 18,000 police and other public safety applicants of the same gender and ethnic group.

Additional profiles contrast current applicants applying for public safety jobs with norms from a group of applicants in four job classifications (police officers, communications dispatcher, corrections officer and firefighter/EMT) who successfully completed the job screening procedures for the same positions, were hired, and completed at least one year in that position.  Psychological screening enables you to move beyond the basic determination of emotional stability to assess the job suitability of an applicant in a valid and defensible manner.

The psychological screening report provides a unique graphic and narrative picture of the applicant's interpersonal style.

The psychological screenings are conducted by:
